PPS Production Paint Stripping has expanded its reach into Midwest America with its acquisition of the former Eltek Company in Batesville, Indiana. “We have found a thriving business with a dedicated workforce and an excellent reputation for quality and customer service in its region, serving Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky,” said PPS General Manager Chris Hughes.
Hughes said the new facility—now called PPS-Indiana—boasts six very large thermal furnaces that can incinerate old finishes from office-sized loads of paint racks, floor grates and finished parts in a matter of hours. “Post-burn pressure washing, and de-rusting operations provide exceptional appearance and functional characteristic to support our customers’ paint systems,” he said.
For transportation, the facility uses two straight trucks and two tractor-trailer rigs to provide reliable delivery and pick-up schedules for the customer and the production staff. “Investments in safety, HR and capital equipment, as well the facility itself are trademark activities that PPS, powered by MPW, dive into shortly after acquisitions,” Hughes said. “The integration of people and systems are well underway after our December 13 closing date.”
Hughes said the former Eltek facility was an attractive acquisition for many reasons, including a hard-working, confident and knowledgeable staff. “We are pleased to announce that (former Eltek manager) Mike Feagins has agreed to carry-on as the facility leader, continuing its solid reputation and leading the growth and development of the business into the future,” Hughes said.
Not only is the facility itself of good quality construction, but its large ovens can also handle an enormous amount of paint stripping business. “It’s a place that services another good-sized group of customers and has the capacity to go after additional customers with the same sort of work we do at all our PPS plants,” Hughes said. Hughes said the former Eltek facility has been in business for 25 years. The newly acquired PPS-Indiana is the sixth addition to the PPS family of facilities, which includes three facilities in Ontario, Canada—Toronto, Brampton and Windsor—and US facilities in Fairborn, Ohio and Huntsville, Alabama.
